Disneyland Resort quiet times, weather and day plans. Unofficial; not affiliated with Disney.
How many full days do you want in the parks, and how many break days with no park? The wizard adds a check-in day before your first full day and a checkout day after your last, so those don’t count here.
Things that stay the same for the whole trip.

Rides and lines
Start, finish, the midday break and the waits or steps slider are starting points; you can change them for each day later. A day that starts after lunch or finishes by 4 pm skips the break.
Tell it what matters. The weeks below give the big picture for the year (100 is the best week for your priorities, 0 the worst). Under them are the best trips of your length, with exact dates.
From check-in to checkout. Park days land on the best days of your trip and break days on the weakest, never two in a row. Don’t like a pick? Use the buttons on any day to make it a break day or a park day, and to choose its park.
Plan a single day on its own. Your hotel and Lightning Lane choices come from Trip settings in the Trip wizard tab.
Pick a date and a park, when you'll start and finish, and a break length to get a schedule: no break (stay all day), or a 1 to 5 hour mid‑day break at your hotel. Times come from Disney's published hours for that date when they're out (about six weeks ahead), otherwise the typical hours for that week and weekday (2025 schedule), each ride's waits by hour adjusted for the month, weekday and week, and 10 years of hourly weather.

Mean posted wait across every attraction reporting that day, averaged over 2023 to now, grouped into 7‑day weeks. Lower is quieter. Shaded bands are holidays and school breaks.
Queue‑Times crowd rating, averaged over 2015–2019 and 2023–2026: how a day ranks against every day the park has been tracked since 2014 (0 = quietest, 100 = busiest). Lower is quieter.
Minutes, 2023 to now. Lower is quieter.
0–100 rank, 2015–2019 and 2023–2026. Lower is quieter.
0–100 rank, 2015–2019 and 2023–2026. Lower is quieter. Wait‑time history by weekday isn't published for free, so this view uses crowd ratings only.
Average hours open per day on the 2025 schedule. Shorter days at California Adventure in Aug–Oct are Halloween party nights, when the park closes at 6 pm.
Typical windows based on the 2025–2026 calendars; exact dates shift each year. Ticketed nights mean a park closes early to day guests on select nights in that window.
Share of days each attraction was closed all day, 2023–2025: refurbishments and seasonal overlay changeovers such as Haunted Mansion Holiday and small world holiday. A ride is counted closed when it posted no waits for an entire week. Short one‑day breakdowns aren't counted.
Live forecast for Anaheim, fetched when you open the app: Xweather's hourly forecast if you've added your keys in Settings, otherwise Open‑Meteo's free 16‑day hourly forecast.

Anaheim daily weather records, 2016–2025, averaged into the same 7‑day weeks. Shaded bands are holidays and school breaks.
Average daily high, “feels like” high (heat plus humidity) and overnight low, °F. The dashed line marks 90°F.
Share of days with measurable rain (0.04 in or more), and with a soaking (0.25 in or more). Outdoor rides like Big Thunder, Matterhorn and Incredicoaster can pause in rain, and fireworks may be cancelled.
Share of days with a high of 90°F or more, a low under 45°F, or gusts of 30 mph or more. Strong winds can delay fireworks and close some outdoor attractions.
2016–2025 averages. Rain chance, soaking chance, hot days, chilly nights and windy days are shares of days in the month.
Mean posted wait across the major attractions in each park, by hour of the day, 2025. The first two hours after opening and the last two before close are the shortest. Disneyland peaks around early afternoon; California Adventure peaks later, around 4 pm, which makes a mid‑afternoon park hop toward Disneyland worthwhile.
Average posted wait by hour, 2025. Darker means longer. Each row is shaded against its own peak, so the lightest cells are that ride's best hours.
Turn any measure on or off to lay it over the others, week by week. Scaled stretches each line between its own low and high so different units can share the chart. Actual values plots real numbers, with up to two units on left and right axes. Hover for exact values.

Each dataset is its own file in the app's data folder, with its source and dates at the top. When a trip date runs past what a file covers, the planner falls back (typical hours for the time of year, average ticket prices, the usual event windows) and says so on that day's plan.
Average wait time comes from Thrill Data's by‑date history (thrill-data.com): for each calendar date, the mean posted wait across every attraction that reported, averaged over 2023 to now. Their per‑date history starts in 2019, but only the 2023‑onward figure is used here, so the COVID closure and reopening years are left out.
Crowd rating comes from Queue‑Times' daily crowd calendar (queue-times.com) for 2015–2019 and 2023 through Oct 23, 2026, about 6,400 park days. 2020–2022 are left out because of the COVID closure and the reservation and reduced‑capacity period after it. It is a rank, not a headcount: each day is compared with every day the park has been tracked since late 2014. Because some years run busier than others, each year's average is removed before averaging (so a quiet week in a busy year still counts as quiet), the result is put back on the 2023–2026 scale, and 2023–2026 days count double, since the older years predate Galaxy's Edge, Lightning Lane and today's annual passes. Read the rating for its shape (which weeks and days are lower) rather than its level.
Where the two disagree: both put late August through mid‑September as the quietest stretch at both parks. They differ on early summer: crowd ratings drop sharply from May at Disneyland, while wait times fall more gradually. Sunday as Disneyland's quietest weekday comes from crowd ratings only and runs against the usual locals‑on‑weekends advice, so treat it as a lead rather than a certainty.
Weather comes from the Open‑Meteo historical archive (open-meteo.com) for Anaheim, 2016–2025: ten years of daily records from ERA5 reanalysis, a blend of weather‑station and satellite observations. Rain chance is the share of days with at least 0.04 in, which skips trace drizzle. Each weekly figure rests on about 70 days, so expect some week‑to‑week noise; the monthly table is steadier.
Time of day and ride closures come from Queue‑Times' per‑attraction history for 42 major rides (2023–2025; hourly figures are 2025). Overlay versions like Haunted Mansion Holiday are merged with the regular ride, and rides are only counted from when they opened (Toontown reopened March 2023; Tiana's Bayou Adventure opened November 2024). Seasonal events are typical windows from the 2025–2026 calendars published by Disney Tourist Blog (disneytouristblog.com), Attractions Magazine (attractionsmagazine.com) and MickeyVisit (mickeyvisit.com); the 2026 holiday season uses Disney's announced dates (Nov 13, 2026 to Jan 6, 2027, per FOX 11, foxla.com). Disney hadn't announced 2027 event dates as of Oct 24, 2026. Announced refurbishments (it's a small world Oct 30 to Nov 12, 2026; Autopia from Feb 1, 2027, with no reopening date yet) come from Disney Tourist Blog's refurbishment calendar, updated Oct 16, 2026, and are flagged on those dates on top of the usual monthly closure patterns. Sunset times are 2025 values from Open‑Meteo.
Plan a day uses each ride's 2024–2025 average wait by hour, scaled by that ride's month and day‑of‑week averages and by how busy the week runs against its month. Hours are Disney's published hours for that date where available (read from Disney's official calendar at disneyland.disney.go.com on Oct 24, 2026, covering Oct 24 to Dec 5, 2026, including the early closes for Oogie Boogie Bash), otherwise the 2025 schedule for the same week and weekday; weather is the 2016–2025 hourly average for that week. The schedule picks, at each step, the ride whose wait is lowest relative to what it will be later in the day, weighing in the walk to get there (a slider on each day sets how much shorter waits count against fewer steps), nudging outdoor rides away from hot or wet hours. It counts the walk between any two rides from their map locations: the straight line stretched by a third for winding paths, at your group's walking speed (about 50 m a minute for Relaxed, seniors or small children; 65 for Normal, middle-aged adults; 80 for Go-go, young adults), up to 15% slower in the busiest weeks. Ride, restaurant and show locations are © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License, extracted on Oct 25, 2026 and built into the app (the park_places table); restaurants and shows are the middle of their building, and each ride has a queue entrance and an exit picked from the doors mapped on its building, so a walk runs from one ride's exit to the next ride's entrance. To choose between doors we used the ride locations published by ThemeParks.wiki as a reference, once, by hand; none of their data is built into the app and the app never contacts them. These picks are best guesses. The two park gates are our own estimate. A restaurant missing from the map falls back to a simple map of each land. On top of the walk it adds 10 minutes for shops, snacks and distractions (8 from the gate to the first ride), and looks one ride ahead so the plan doesn't zigzag across the park, rope drop 30 minutes before opening, and a relaxed pace on the stay‑all‑day plan: 45‑minute lunch and dinner, and a 20‑minute rest break roughly every 75 minutes. Both plans leave the park at the same time so they cover a similar day; whichever finishes its ride list first gets free time. The split‑day break goes in the hours where waits, heat and rain add up highest, between 11 am and 5 pm. Lunch and dinner are always eaten in the park, never during the hotel break, at the nearest quick-service place to where you are (on your way in from the gate after a break), and the next walk starts from there. Before a hotel break or a park hop the plan walks you back to the gate; a hop then adds the walk across the Esplanade and the tap-in line at the other park (about 15 minutes on a typical day, scaled for how busy it is; no bag check, since the Esplanade is inside security). Free time names the nearest show or character spot. You can set a start (rope drop, 10 am, 1 pm or your own time) and a finish (at close or your own time); the plan only uses those hours, and a day that starts after lunch or finishes by 4 pm has no midday break. Rides above the shortest rider's height can still be picked but are flagged, with a Rider Switch reminder, and plans show every ride's height; minimum heights follow MickeyVisit's height list (mickeyvisit.com, updated Aug 27, 2025, checked Oct 25, 2026). These are estimates from averages: the day‑of hourly detail is behind a Queue‑Times login, and show times aren't modeled.
Ride attributes (land, indoor or outdoor, whether you'll get wet, ride length) were compiled by Claude from the official attraction listings. Lightning Lane eligibility and rules (22 Multi Pass rides; Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers as Single Pass; one booking at a time, next after you use it or 2 hours after booking) follow MickeyVisit's 2026 guide (mickeyvisit.com). Single Rider lines follow the lines Queue‑Times tracks. The plan assumes about one Lightning Lane every 1¾ hours in the park (up to 7), used on the eligible rides with the longest expected waits, at about 10 minutes each and at least an hour apart, since you can hold only one booking at a time; real return times depend on availability that day. Hotel travel times for the Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place Hotel are the walk from an average room to each park's turnstiles along the footpaths mapped in OpenStreetMap (about 430 m to Disneyland and 290 m into California Adventure through the Grand Californian's own entrance; about 845 m from the Disneyland Hotel and 830 m from Pixar Place Hotel), at your group's pace, plus 1½ to 2½ minutes for elevators and hallways. Harbor Blvd hotels use about 15 minutes at Normal pace, and the ART shuttle about 40 minutes whatever the pace. You can override them with a custom time. Every time you come in from the hotel, the plan adds our estimate of the security and tap-in line (the security_waits table): by time of day, from about 8 minutes an hour before opening to 18 at opening and 8 in the evening on a typical day, times 0.7 on quiet days up to 1.4 on busy ones. Disney doesn't publish these, so they come from blog reports (Disney Tourist Blog, Disney Dining, Inside the Magic, MickeyVisit). Grand Californian guests use the hotel's own California Adventure entrance at Grizzly Peak (about 5 minutes less in line) when it's open, by our estimate from an hour before opening until close; for Disneyland they walk to the Esplanade. A ride Disney has announced as closed for refurbishment on that date is left out of the plan.
Pick my park days scores every day of your stay for each park with the same factors and slider weights as Find your best weeks, using that day's published or typical hours, weekday crowd rating and adjusted ride waits. Early‑close party nights at California Adventure are penalized. It then tries every combination of days (and parks, for one‑park tickets) and picks the highest total. Day‑to‑day weather within one week is the same seasonal average, so differences between nearby days mostly come from weekday crowds, hours, party nights and closures.
Ticket prices are Disney's dated 1‑day, 1‑park ticket prices (7 tiers, $104–$224 per adult), read from the official ticket calendar at disneyland.disney.go.com on Oct 23, 2026, and published through June 30, 2027. Multi‑day tickets ($335 for 2 days up to $520 for 5, per adult) cost the same on any dates, per Disney Tourist Blog's report of the October 2026 price change. Weeks and days without a published price count as average.
Find your best weeks scores each week from 0 to 1 on each factor relative to the rest of the year, weights them by your sliders and rescales so the best matching week is 100. "Comfortable temperature" favors feels‑like highs near 74°F and penalizes 90°F days and sub‑45°F nights.
Live forecast: for dates within the forecast range, the planners and the Next 15 days table use a live hourly forecast for Anaheim, fetched by your browser: Vaisala Xweather (xweather.com) if you enter your own API keys in Settings (stored only on this device), otherwise Open‑Meteo (open-meteo.com), which is free and needs no key. Feels‑like is the NWS heat index from temperature and humidity. Beyond the forecast range, or offline, the 10‑year averages are used.
Holidays and school breaks are the actual dates for Nov 2026 to Oct 2027: federal holiday weekends, Thanksgiving week, and winter, Presidents' week, spring and summer breaks spanning the Orange County and Los Angeles district calendars (ActivityHero, activityhero.com; MomsLA, momsla.com). Spring break season runs Mar 13 to Apr 11, 2027, around Easter on Mar 28. In later years they shift by a few days. Park hours in the weekly charts are the 2025 schedule; day plans use published hours where available.
